1. Conclusions 249 Unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests were carried out to investigate the effect of freeze-thaw cycles and 250 freezing temperature on stress-strain behaviors, failure strength, elastic modulus, shear strength of expansive soil 251 in climate margins. Some conclusions obtained are as follows: 252 (1) When the axial strain is smaller than 20%, the stress-strain curves development trend of expansive soil in 253 climate margins could be classified into the stages of pore closure, approximately elastic deformation, stress 254 transition and stress stable development. 255 (2) Following the first freeze-thaw cycle, the stress-strain relationship of expansive soil under low confining 256 pressure transformed into a weak strain-softening model. The strain-softening trend is strengthened with the References;Y Chen;JRM,2022
