Abstract
Objective - This paper presents a conceptual framework of preserving archival heritage by considering on the sustainable development model. The World Heritage Convention recognizes heritage as 'monuments, groups of buildings and sites'. The archival heritage residing in archives, libraries, museum and art gallery constitute a major part of that memory and reflects the diversity of people, languages and cultures that need to be preserved.
Methodology/Technique - Preservation management is one of the basic tasks or activities of all institutions that work in the area of preserving and managing heritage, and is therefore one of the basic authority and management tasks of every archive.
Findings - Differences among institutions are primarily regarding the manner of processing, use and presentation to the public. Archivists, librarians and curators differentiate heritage primarily with regard to its content and the intended purpose associated with it.
Novelty - The conceptual framework will discuss on the four major components of sustainable development, element of preservation management for cultural institution, issues and challenges faced on preservation of archival heritage.
