Abstract
This paper presents an overview of some legal implications of the application of telemedicine to veterinary medicine. As in other areas of medicine, veterinary practitioners need to be aware that remote practice or consultation requires adherence to the same professional standards as in normal clinical veterinary practice. Licensing, confidentiality and malpractice are discussed.
