Abstract
The morphology of the giant dopamine-containing neurone of Lymnaea stagnalis, R.Pe.D.I, was studied by injection of Lucifer Yellow CH and by electrophysiological techniques.
R.Pe.D.I was found to project to the periphery via the nerve trunks of theright parietal and visceral ganglia. Neurites bearing varicosities were found in each ganglion through which the axon passed. The neurites consistently arose from the same regions of the axon and the neuritic fields were similar in each preparation.
