Abstract
The subfamily Cetoniinae, the genus Gymnetis MacLeay, and the species Gymnetis litigiosa Gory & Percheron are recorded for the first time in Chile, based on specimens collected in the cities of San Felipe de Aconcagua, Los Andes (Valparaíso Region) and Santiago (Metropolitan Region). This new record increases to four the number of exotic scarab beetles introduced and established in the country and extends the known distribution area of the species to the western slope of the Andes mountain range. A brief diagnosis for recognition of the species, adult photographs, distribution, and natural history data are provided. The possible route of entry of this cetoniid into Chile is discussed.
