Abstract
The growth of special interest tourism is seen as a reflection of the growing diversity of leisure interests in the leisure society of the early 21st century. Post-modern tourism is slowly moving from traditional tourism attractions to being part of a general lifestyle that corresponds to people's (women's) daily lives and activities. As a conceptual study, in this chapter, readers will understand the definition of special interest tourism and the difference between general interest tourism. They will understand the characteristics, scope, and wide variety types of special interest tourism for women tourist such as adventure tourism, medical tourism, rural tourism, cultural tourism, culinary tourism, religious tourism, ecotourism, sports tourism, educational tourism, photographic tourism, dark tourism, celebrity tourism, and film tourism. Moreover, they will learn new types of trends in special interest tourism for women tourists like Insta-tourism, virtual tourism, Pokémon-go tourism (gaming tourism), and space tourism (Astro-tourism).
