Abstract
Temple architecture can be a significant draw for tourism, as temples are often considered to be important culture and historical landmarks. Many people are drawn to temples for religious and spiritual reasons, while others are interested in the art, architecture, and history of these structures. Various styles of temple architecture can be seen in different parts of the world. Tourism related to temple architecture can take many forms, ranging from guided tours to individual temples to multi-day trip exploring entire temple complexes. During the visit, tourists may also join in the ceremonies and cultural activities to understand local culture and tradition. In addition to being cultural landmarks, temples can also have economic and social impacts on the local communities. In this chapter, the authors are exploring the potential of tourism in various temple architecture sites through different case studies.
