Shifting Supply Chains

Abstract

This brief chapter will explain the global economic order post-World War II, in which international and supranational organizations were established to provide protocols for global trade and economic relations within a balance of power system; and the shifting of this economic order in the modern-day to a more siloed supply chain system that will likely correspond with the hegemonic alliances (political, militarily, and economic). This chapter will attempt to address the politics of the current economic crisis of supply chain throttling, which began during the pandemic, but has a major impact on the establishment of the new world order (regional blocs of economic and political might, according to this author).
