Abstract
Religion plays an important role in tourism that ultimately contributes to the human development. Religious attractions belong to the cultural elements and are an important component of economic and social activities. The basic and essential elements religious tourism areas considered as more than pilgrimages. Pilgrimage has material and spiritual values which voluntarily engages with religious significance. In religious tourism, it is not necessarily involving the tourist's belief in a certain religion. The concept of culture entails the need to treat religious tourism as a manifestation of fundamental motivations. Religion, as a part of culture, can contribute to cultural conservation.
