Abstract
This current chapter starts from a main question: What is the extent of social resilience as a function of managing extreme climatic events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? The study will present three basic concepts: social resilience, crisis management, and extreme climatic phenomena. As for the approach used for the study, it is the descriptive approach, and an electronic questionnaire is relied upon as a tool for collecting data within cities in the eastern region. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: dehydration is one of the many manifestations of the impact of climatic phenomena on cities, including: increasing rates of economic pressures, giving priority to smart cities, and restructuring development plans for infrastructure within cities.
