Climate Change in World and Egyptian Cinema

Abstract

The chapter focuses on the climate changes and environmental transformations that swept the world through two aspects: a realistic aspect and an artistic one. The first section of the chapter identifies the problem of climate change and its causes, most of which are attributed to human action, in addition to natural disasters. The second section presents the international and global action towards these environmental problems, the global conferences that were held and the agreements that were concluded in this regard, and the importance of regional institutions and constitutions was also highlighted. The artistic aspect was dealt through the third and fourth sections of the chapter. The third section presents cinema art, film sociology, and the term environmental cinema. The fourth and final section deals with climate changes as presented by international cinema films - especially American cinema - and Egyptian cinema, and tried to explain the reason for the difference from a sociological point of view.
