Abstract

This study is an in-depth analysis of the role of political parties in Nigeria's democratic process. The chapter examines the lack of strong ideologies among Nigeria's political parties and the impact this has on policy-making and democratic governance. Through a critical review of existing literature and empirical data, the author explores the historical and political context that has shaped the evolution of political parties in Nigeria, and the consequences of their weak ideological orientation. The article aims to provide insight into the challenges facing Nigeria's democratic system and offers recommendations for strengthening the country's political parties and democratic institutions.
