Abstract
In this study, the answer to the question “Why should teachers know learning management systems?” is investigated from the perspective of pre-service teachers, aiming to understand the acceptance and underlying implicit meanings of LMS usage. Seventy pre-service teachers studying in different fields participated voluntarily in the study. The research data was collected through a semi-structured interview form after ten weeks of LMS installation, management, LMS usage, and digital instructional material development training. The research findings show that pre-service teachers consider the knowledge and skills of teachers regarding LMS important and necessary. The reasons for this necessity are addressed and detailed under the themes of effective learning processes, flexibility in access, content management, assessment and evaluation/feedback, time management and organization, and professional development.
