Abstract
The teaching paradigm is undergoing a real revolution in addition the pandemic situation suffered from COVID-19. Therefore, both teachers and faculty must adapt and train so as to give an adequate response that improves the results and favors the motivation for learning. They are putting their focus on the permanent training of teachers and on educational innovation. One of the most current and innovative teaching innovation tools is gamification. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the existing scientific literature, carrying out a systematic review of the empirical studies that show experiences carried out in university classrooms, especially in careers related to teaching in different specialties. Discarding the texts that did not meet the eligibility criteria, six articles were selected that are committed to teaching innovation and the practice of educational strategies such as gamification in university classrooms to promote meaningful learning as well as the involvement and motivation of students towards learning.
