Abstract
The mission and organizational structure of a university can employ a variety of frameworks to address diversity, equity, and inclusion. In this chapter, the guiding principles of one online university, and how reframing its approach to higher education through the Social Determinants of Health, allowed the institution to respond to the call for action around educational justice, health equity, and healthier communities. Examples of how to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and integrate social determinants of health into curricula are provided.
