Abstract
Biodiversity is indeed very essential for keeping the ecosystem in virtuous working order. When biodiversity decreases in an ecosystem, both the productivity and the quality of the services that the ecosystem provides deteriorate. The stability of the ecosystem is also subject to risk from biodiversity loss. Monitoring biodiversity entails periodic surveys to observe the types of life forms that exist and how their numbers fluctuate. In biology and ecology, volunteers are frequently collecting data on endangered, vulnerable, and threatened species. Individuals, particularly youth, that participate in biodiversity monitoring and related sectors and possess a strong curiosity about science can make better use of smartphones by documenting scientific observations through field-based biodiversity studies that include the recording of photographs and videos of biological specimens that can help in further conservation strategies. The present study aims to promote awareness of biodiversity monitoring and protection among academics and the public, especially youth.
