Abstract
Gender-related issues have not lost their importance from the past to the present and are being carefully emphasized. As one of the important subjects of sociology, gender and gender discrimination continues to exist in the tourism sector as well. There are basic predispositions for both employment in tourism and the participation of women as consumers in tourism activities. The roles socially determined for women can create an obstacle for women to participate in working life. The same attitude is observed at the stage of women's participation in tourism activities. In particular, the risks and concerns faced by women traveling as a group or alone indicate the perspective on women has not changed. Based on this point of view, this study aims to present the relationship between gender and tourism, the experiences of women both in working life and in tourism activities as a tourist in a theoretical framework.
