Abstract
This chapter reports research data collected from 73 cities of various sizes throughout the United States and analyzes the factors affecting local governments' capacity to build and maintain welcoming communities for immigrants and refugees. The chapter includes recommendations for enhancing governmental capacity in building inclusive communities for inclusive economic development, sociocultural cohesion, and collective wellbeing.
