Abstract
Following independence, India established public sector enterprises (PSEs) to quickly establish the nation's industrial base. Accelerating the growth of the economy's key sectors, meeting the equipment needs of strategically significant industries, and creating jobs and income were major factors in the establishment of PSEs. Since the country's independence, leadership in public sector firms has played a critical role in achieving economic growth, profit, and social gain. This chapter focuses on leadership concepts, particularly in the public sector, and how to improve performance. It will highlight the latest developments and adaptations in public sector leadership.
