Improving Teaching and Learning of Ornamental and Medicinal Plants in the Arab Countries

Abstract

This chapter sheds light on the main features of education in the universities of Arab countries. Limitations and obstacles were highlighted, with presentation of non-controversial keys for their resolution. The language used in education is largely discussed to reveal the great significance of using the Arabic language in the Arabic world. The discussion reveals clearly how this issue can guarantee easy and perfect education, keeping in mind that this is the situation in all advanced countries who are sticking to their national languages in education. The chapter demonstrates the nature of ornamental and medicinal plants as an application for the intended aim, together with highlighting their significance for human being. Expansion of essential knowledge in the field of ornamental and medicinal plants was also demonstrated. The economic significance of these plants was also mentioned.
