Abstract

The construction industry plays a crucial role in the economic and social development of every country However, the construction sector uses 36% of total energy, 30% of raw materials, 39% of energy-related CO2 emissions, and 35% of solid waste production. In fact, the emergence of sustainable development has been accompanied by a profusion of research dealing with the impact of the integration of sustainability on managerial practices. In Morocco, the orientation to sustainable construction implies an evolution of construction project management practices to not only ensure that projects meet time, cost, and technical quality requirements, but also to guarantee that the construction project is sustainable. This paper aims to study the sustainable project management practices developed within Moroccan companies. For this purpose, the authors have used secondary data and activity reports from seven Moroccan companies in the construction sector. The results of this study show that the seven companies adopt very heterogeneous practices, ranging from continuous actions to specific actions
