Abstract
Over time, malware attacks have become more frequent and sophisticated, causing substantial harm to organisations and individuals. In response, malware mitigation technologies have been created by cybersecurity specialists in order to identify, stop, and correct such assaults. Network traffic is monitored by intrusion detection and prevention systems, which also notify security professionals of possible threats. By preventing unwanted access to a network, firewalls give an extra degree of security. Untrusted software is isolated and run in a secure environment using sandboxing technologies to look for suspected malware activities. Instead of relying on malware's signature, behavioural analysis techniques identify malware by its activity. Despite the availability of these technologies, malware assaults continue to pose a serious danger, necessitating ongoing improvement and updating of mitigation strategies. Future developments in malware mitigation solutions, such as the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, will also be covered in this chapter.
