Abstract
African feminism is a movement striving for social justice and gender equality. It is, however, not a homogeneous movement, with the disparities arising as a result of misrepresentation by Western feminism. This chapter utilizes a descriptive phenomenological approach to tease out epistemological concerns and ethical foundations of feminism in Africa. This chapter argues that a thriving feminism in Africa should embrace a multiplicity of ideologies and strategies from diverse contexts and lived experiences towards a unified goal of a sound African Feminist epistemic.
