Abstract

The chapter provides an in-depth understanding of conflict in the workplace and its consequences in stressful conditions. Additionally, it highlights a few modern practices of conflict management which are pragmatically adopted. A systematic review of published literature has been undertaken as the methodology to conduct this research. Besides, a survey was conducted among employees of a diversified workforce to evaluate the current workplace scenario. The study concluded that besides disruption, the conflict brings multi-dimensional outcomes like increased productivity, innovative ideas, teamcohesion, and loyalty, once dealt prudently. Stress is always unconstructive for individuals and for organizations, though it is an inevitable part of the modern organization. Thus, it is imperative for managers to establish harmony between conflicts and levels of occupational stress by implementing and monitoring effective organizational policies and strategies. Furthermore, this learning unlocks undefined frontiers for prospective researchers to apply the findings for real-life applications.
