Maintaining Global Competitiveness Even in a Period of Global Crisis

Abstract

In the context of the intense, extensive, radical, and dynamic changes that occur during global crises, strategic management needs to find such development solutions that will enable a company to do its best in such a turbulent environment and maintain or even improve global competitiveness. Deglobalisation and de-internationalisation for businesses in smaller economies can only be temporary, because strategic management in these companies must develop new means and ways to achieve a successful business in such a situation. Therefore, the key task of strategic management is to create a business model. A simplified correlation study between the largest Slovenian companies and major exporters shows the strong export orientation of Slovenian companies even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
