Abstract

This chapter delves into the shortfalls of the current model of inclusion within the scope of sustainable development, specifically as it pertains to empowerment of women. It proposes an alternative model for stakeholder engagement and strategic inclusion that offers a means by which investment into sustainable development initiatives that focus on empowerment of women can facilitate strategic and meaningful impact outcomes. The chapter further expands on the importance of transparency and vetting of impact outcomes as well as the need to create a common body of knowledge, strategic stakeholder partnerships, and mechanisms for scalability in order to meet the 2030 SDG agenda.
