Abstract

e-waste is some of the most hazardous waste on the globe. It is currently at its highest degree of distress, if accounting its production of 50 million tons per year, which will eventually be increasing even more as electronics become a key factor in machines used by mankind. e-waste constitutes numerous chemicals, like lead, mercury, brominated flame retardants, beryllium, and cadmium, that may hamper all living things as well as the environment. The mishandled electronics disposal ends up in our air, water, and soil. This chapter presents the significant impacts of e-waste on the environment, and lists out the possible ways which may help to get rid of it to a considerable extent.
