Abstract

The variation in different fruit plant groups morphologically, anatomically, and physiologically beside its type in addition to the preferred place of cultivation all make a difference in the response to the infection by nematodes. In addition, the conditions in the orchard around the fruit plants affect the infection by nematodes. Some plant fruits are big trees (pears), but others are small (grapes). Some of them have a woody stem and others don't (banana). Deciduous fruits can grow in a cold climate, but evergreen fruits grow in a worm places. Orchards of pome and stone fruits are found in cold areas, but bananas grow in hot places and need a lot of water while olives prefer sandy soil with small amounts of water. The nematodes could be affected, and the amount could be decreased in sunny places with the decrease of water and by using mulch. Starting with clean and healthy seedlings or by grafting on tolerated rootstocks could minimize the nematode infection in orchards.
