Abstract
Entrepreneurial activity and opportunity costs are adversely related. There is little empirical evidence that connects these two important factors. This chapter introduces the gap in literature and attempts to intersect role of opportunity costs and its impact on entrepreneurial activity in Canada. Using autobiographical research design, the chapter concludes that higher opportunity costs are a barrier to entrepreneurial activity and government's current support does not go far in addressing these challenges. The authors provide recommendations for the policymakers and new entrepreneurs.
