Abstract
Orphan children are regarded as vulnerable because they lack parental support. By ensuring all forms of care, including educational support, the SOS Children's Village offers an ideal family environment for orphan children. In spite of providing extensive educational facilities, the teachers faced difficulties in case of classroom management. Therefore, this qualitative study aims to explore the patterns of misbehaviors of orphan children in the classroom and the factors influencing these misbehaviors. This study also explores the effective ways of classroom management in the post-pandemic period. Convenience sampling was conducted to collect data via FGD from five teachers of primary level and key informant interviews with two educational experts. Moreover, two classes of primary level were observed. Thematic data analysis was conducted to classify the data under three themes namely- patterns of misbehavior, causes of misbehavior and the ways of effective classroom management. The findings may be utilized by curriculum experts, teachers, teacher trainers and policymakers.
