Abstract
Most employees say they have unfavourable sentiments about their organization, yet they often seem hesitant to follow through with their decision to leave. This presents a painful dichotomy for organizations that look for long term manpower solutions. This study examined the relationships between the Myers-Briggs' four personality dimensions (extraversion/introversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving) and the behaviour of employees to stick around with the organization for years even amidst a high attrition rate. After compiling all these observations, the authors propose the following five strategies for employers to take into consideration: Leveraging the power of belongingness, form addictive positive work environment, capitalise on the spillover effect, communicate with either the heart or the head, and prioritise having experiences above an employee status. This research will offer an introspection to both employees and the employers.
