Cyber Security Policy in India

Abstract

Cyber security policies can be defined as a formal set of rules that help regulate all the aspects of data and information exchange over the internet. These cyber policies are made with the goal to ensure the necessary regulations to protect people over cyber space and to allow a social freedom. It is necessary to maintain a balance between the two. Progress to expand the legislation to criminalize certain activities that pose as a threat to the society is rather a remarkable step for most countries. The first step is the introduction of a policy to the country. A policy is mostly used as a strategy to define different objectives and methods to address the issue of concern. Developing a policy helps the government to understand and define a required response to a problem. The battle against cybercrime cannot be solely won by introducing legislation. Certain strategies and measures that strengthen the fight against such crime and resolve conflicts are also needed.
