Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of e-Competencies on digital transformation, with a specific focus on the mediating role of digital leadership within the context of the Malaysian manufacturing industry. This paper employs a quantitative research approach, utilizing a structured questionnaire method to collect data. The data collection involves surveying 150 respondents who have actively engaged in digital leadership within their current job roles. This study evaluates the new normal working environment in manufacturing industries, where tasks such as coaching, supervising, and managing are performed electronically via digital devices. The findings reveal a positive and significant correlation between e-competences (encompassing technology and digital literacy) and digital leadership. Additionally, a noteworthy positive association between e-competences and digital transformation is observed, particularly when the digital leadership variable serves as a mediating factor in the relationship.
