Abstract
This chapter examines employee retention through Herzberg's two-factor theory, comparing motivation levels between Jet Airways and Indigo Airlines employees. The study aims to identify key motivators that influence retention. Quantitative analysis reveals Indigo employees exhibit significantly higher motivation across promotion policy, professional training, cross-departmental training, soft skills development, personal growth opportunities, recognition, and sense of achievement. The only factor showing no significant difference is a sense of responsibility. The findings underscore the critical role of intrinsic motivators in driving retention. Indigo's focus on employee development, recognition, and fulfillment translates into a more engaged workforce than Jet Airways. The study highlights the need for organizations to prioritize factors like growth, recognition, and achievement to foster motivation and long-term commitment.
