Abstract

The focus of this study was to ascertain the extent to which children with special needs have been fully integrated into the inclusive education policy in Abuja, Nigeria vis-a-vis SDG goal 4. The study was built on a blend of social work theories. The methodology adopted for the study was integrative literature review. Literature review revealed that inclusive education has not been fully implemented in Abuja, Nigeria. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that children faced with learning impediments are at the receiving end in the midst of inclusive education policy in Nigeria. Recommendations have been made to Federal Capital Territory Education Authority, Federal Government of Nigeria to increase funding to inclusive education programme, train teachers in special education amongst others to improve inclusive education policy and ameliorate the plight of children with learning challenges.
