Abstract
This chapter explains how the financial stability of the economy is threatened by the effects of climate change. Since research and statistics on the subject are still deemed to be shallow and inadequate, the purpose of this chapter is to address the lack of understanding regarding the extent of the effects that climate change poses to the financial industry. A wealth of information about the many economic sectors and systems impacted by climate change can be gained by investigating several economic models, such as GEM-E3-ISL and GINFORS.
