Abstract
As the global workforce diversified, the understanding of physical, cognitive, and organisational ergonomics in the workplace became crucial. This study examined the influence of ergonomic workspace design on stress experienced by female employees. It scrutinised the effects of various elements within the workspace environment, including workstation seating arrangements, lighting, organisation of information, and interpersonal dynamics among colleagues and how these factors contribute to stress levels among women working in both public and private sector settings. The research comprised 40 participants selected from multinational corporations and government agencies through convenience sampling. Stress levels were assessed utilising the stress scale developed by Dr. Vijay Lakshmi and Dr. Shruti Narain, and ergonomic factors were explored through a self-developed questionnaire. The statistical method of analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to compute results and derive conclusions regarding the influence of workspace ergonomics on stress levels among female employees.
