Abstract
The chapter discusses the problems of forming specially protected natural areas in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Research shows the need to preserve and restore the natural environment, awareness of the importance of environmental protection of nature, especially in the context of economic globalization. As part of the study, data on specially protected natural areas of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation were collected from open sources of information. Data processing and analysis was carried out, which made it possible to determine the current state of the system of specially protected natural areas. The authors identified a number of problems in the system of specially protected natural areas of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and proposed practical ways to solve them.
