Abstract
Transnational higher education (TNHE) is a recent educational trend that has been growing in popularity exponentially as the world is becoming a more connected place. Student motivation and success are key areas of consideration when examining the effectiveness of TNHE programmes and can be analysed from different perspectives. The impact of cultural and leadership factors on student motivation and success are the key perspectives examined in this non-empirical study. The results highlighted a number of thematic areas, and in regard to cultural factors, these were ‘cultural differences' and ‘intercultural communication'. The main themes connected to leadership factors and their impact on student motivation were firstly ‘professional development' and secondly ‘leadership of TNHE programmes'. This investigation underscores the necessity of integrating cultural understanding and effective leadership to enhance the efficacy of TNHE programmes and improve student outcomes.
