Abstract
The swift urbanisation of Indian towns has presented notable obstacles to the long-term viability of agriculture, specifically regarding water supplies. This chapter provides a thorough examination of the use of treated urban wastewater to improve agricultural resilience in Indian cities. This study examines the possible advantages, difficulties, and approaches related to the use of treated wastewater in agriculture to enhance growth and sustainability. The study employs an interdisciplinary approach to evaluate the present practices, policy frameworks, and stakeholder engagement in order to gain insights into the practicality and efficiency of using treated wastewater into urban agricultural systems.
