Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is reshaping travel and tourism with IoT, AI, and biometrics, enriching tourist experiences through enhanced vehicle technologies. However, heightened vehicle connectivity poses cybersecurity risks, endangering traveler safety and privacy. Effective cybersecurity strategies are essential to secure vehicle systems and sensitive data, ensuring a trustworthy tourism environment. Protection focuses on digital assets, personal information, and critical infrastructure like booking platforms and transport services. As cars integrate advanced infotainment, safeguarding navigation and communication data becomes crucial against evolving cyber threats. Reports highlight vulnerabilities in keyless entry systems, contrasting theft rates between vulnerable models and secure alternatives like Tesla, emphasizing encryption and biometric security measures. Enhanced cybersecurity practices, including updates, authentication, and compliance, are pivotal for mitigating risks in rental and connected vehicles, safeguarding against emerging threats in the automotive sector.
