Abstract

The last decade has seen a significant increase in the frequency and sophistication of cyber-attacks. As technology continues to advance and more and more sensitive information is stored and shared online, cyber criminals have found new and innovative ways to target individuals, businesses, and governments. In recent years, the number and severity of cybersecurity attacks have continued to increase, with attackers finding new and creative ways to exploit vulnerabilities and steal sensitive information. Some of the most notable types of cyberattacks that have emerged in recent years include ransomware attacks, phishing scams, advanced persistent threats (APTs), and attacks on the Internet of Things (IoT). This chapter presents a review of new age Cyber criminals and security attack trends.
