Abstract
As smart cities advance, integrating cutting-edge technologies becomes vital for addressing urban hurdles and improving residents' well-being. This chapter explores the synergies between blockchain and robotics to enhance accessibility in smart cities, utilizing blockchain's decentralization and security in tandem with robotics' flexibility. It begins by identifying accessibility challenges such as transportation limitations and infrastructure barriers. Blockchain, with its decentralized ledger, is proposed to enhance transparency and security in smart city systems. The integration of blockchain with robotics presents promising solutions, empowering autonomous systems to augment public services for differently-abled individuals. Real-world applications are examined, including blockchain-based identity management systems and robotic assistance in urban areas. The chapter advocates for an integrated approach to address accessibility challenges, aiming for inclusive and sustainable urban environments where technology elevates accessibility and enhances residents' quality of life.
