Algerian Agricultural Development Policies and Trends for the Realizing of Food Security

Abstract

This study aimed to know the path of agricultural development programs in Algeria, as the reality of agriculture and agriculture today is the product of many successive policies over the decades since independence to the present day. All of these policies were aimed at achieving food security and self-sufficiency. Then the research study provides insight into the successive policies between the mistakes committed and the lack of optimal exploitation of the available capabilities and the development of programs that would not have been successful under any circumstances, especially since they are always an imitation of the socialist approach to management. This is what was proven by the private initiative in Algeria, and the study concluded with the necessity. Mechanization of agriculture and the transition from the traditional approach in managing the agriculture and farming file to smart agriculture, which can advance the national economy, is a sensitive and strategic sector.
