Abstract
This study was developed to investigate parents' perceptions on impact of COVID-19 on education, in response to school closure due to the pandemic. The perception on barrier to access, opportunity, and learning outcomes was studied. This research employed a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 120 parents of secondary school students in the urban areas of Tamil Nadu. Through a survey, data were collected using self-constructed questionnaire which was content and reliability validated. The descriptive statistics, ANNOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data. The findings reveal that parents have a negative perception about the impact of COVID-19 on education. The findings indicate no significant difference in the parents' perception on basis of income or educational background. It further reveals there is a positive correlation between the perception of barrier to access in education and opportunities in education.
