This reflective academic essay explores the complex dynamics of student resistance to culturally relevant and responsive teaching pedagogies amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and distance learning in college classrooms. Through a nuanced exploration of personal experiences and observations, it highlights the difficulties encountered by both educators and students in cultivating inclusive learning environments during unprecedented circumstances. Moreover, the chapter further complicates this idea by exploring the perspective of an instructor of color.
