Abstract

The rise of international branch campuses in China is a recent higher education development. It is crucial to understand these institutions to ensure their success. Research has related job satisfaction and organizational support to expatriate academic employee retention. This study explores strategies for enhancing these campuses to ensure their sustainability. This qualitative research focuses on faculty perspectives on job satisfaction relating to organizational support by conducting individual interviews. The study analyzes the gathered data to identify thematic findings. Findings reveal faculty perceptions concerning the support they received or lacked. The research sheds light on administrators' effectiveness in ensuring faculty satisfaction and support, highlighting areas that require improvement. This study aims to provide valuable insights about faculty needs and their commitment to ongoing employment. The research offers practical guidance to university administrators in identifying areas for improved faculty support, potentially leading to higher retention rates.
