Abstract

In this chapter, conventional and advanced filtration technologies, which are particularly tailored to tackle the problems of air and water pollution in India, are explored. Novel techniques such as gravity filtration, sand filtration, multimedia filtration, membrane filtration, activated carbon filtration, and electrostatic precipitation have been explored to analyze and make technical changes. The advanced filtration technologies have been discussed to apply and solve the strong mitigation measures. The technical, economic, and regulatory aspects of filtration technology have also been discussed. Implementation strategies for filtration technology have been discussed, using existing technologies to be efficient in addressing pollution problems. The environmental regulations (policies, laws, and rules) procedures are designed to preserve environmental resources and sustainable developments. The best practices have also been described to learn the existing methods and procedures.
