Abstract

Carbon-based materials are indispensable in various scientific fields due to their unique chemical, mechanical, thermal, and biological properties. The ability of carbon atoms to form strong covalent bonds with other substances allows for widespread applications of materials such as graphene, diamond, amorphous carbon, and fullerenes in biomedicine as inert coating materials. Carbon nanostructures offer new possibilities in biomedical sciences, tissue engineering, automotive technology, and the fuel industry. Integration of nanotechnology with carbon materials enhances their inherent properties, resulting in materials with extraordinary characteristics such as lightweight, strength, durability, and superior thermal and electrical conductivity. This chapter provides a concise overview of recent academic research exploring the utilization of carbon materials in biomedical sciences, emphasizing the synergistic effects of nanotechnology on carbon properties and its implications for various industries
