Abstract

In this chapter, the e-waste challenges and environmental impacts of the proliferation of electronic gadgets to save the environment and human health have been discussed. Conventional techniques such as incineration and landfilling exacerbate resource depletion and pollution. The utilization of bio-based products for sustainable e-waste management emphasizes how biotechnological methods have been employed to minimize environmental impacts. The various limitations of conventional waste management techniques as well as the effects of e-waste creation on the environment are also elaborated. The viability, affordability, and marketability of cutting-edge technologies for incorporating bio-based goods into e-waste treatment have been illustrated in this chapter.
